Hearing Health Journeys

I had always had trouble hearing high pitches, but when I couldn’t hear my third-grade students anymore, I knew I had to do something. I was worried about how I would disguise large, noticeable hearing aids. Dr. Rudden’s receptionist that day was her mom, who treated me like family the moment I walked in, and she put my anxiety at ease.
I have been on my second set of hearing aids since 2007. I could hear my students with ease, you couldn’t even tell I had them in, and I could hear birds again and sounds I didn’t realize I was missing. They’re connected to my phone and I’m in control of levels, streaming, etc. The training from Jill in the office is informative and easy to understand. The way everyone in the office treats you like you’re their only customer makes a big difference. GO NOW! The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and will calm your fears as soon as you enter the office. I can’t say enough about Dr. Rudden and her expertise and quiet presence.

I realized I had a hearing challenge when I often couldn't follow a conversation in a loud environment, especially when a woman was speaking. This was a problem at work events, making it awkward since I had to ask people to repeat themselves or pretend I understood. My main fear was that I was losing my hearing and that it would get worse, along with concerns about looking old if I started wearing hearing aids. Seeing a friend at work wear hearing aids helped me realize they’re no different from wearing glasses, and I began to prioritize my hearing over how I might be perceived.
My first impression of Dr. Rudden was very positive. She was knowledgeable, professional, and listened to my concerns, and I was impressed by the setup at the clinic. Now, with hearing aids, I'm more comfortable in social situations, especially in loud environments. I can follow conversations better, particularly with women, and I don’t need to ask my wife to repeat herself as much. I also believe I'm supporting my long-term health by keeping my brain more engaged. I often tell others to make an appointment and at least get their hearing checked, and I highly recommend the clinic. Everyone there has just been so helpful.

Over 30 years ago, I denied my hearing loss. At the time, hearing aids were large and unattractive, and I feared the vanity and annoyance of having to wear an apparatus. When I was referred to Dr. Rudden for a cochlear implant evaluation, the idea of having a device implanted in my head felt overwhelming and unappealing. Although I was a candidate, I convinced myself it wasn’t necessary.
For years, I thought I could hear “enough,” but I couldn’t truly understand what was happening around me. I asked people to repeat themselves constantly, gave improper responses, or ignored conversations altogether because communication had become too tedious. This created serious problems—misunderstandings, damaged trust, resentment, and missed opportunities.
When I returned to further discuss the cochlear implant, everything changed. Before the implant, I couldn’t have a reasonable conversation with anyone, not even my spouse. After the implant, that all disappeared. The technology corrected everything. It was a blessing—absolutely life changing. I would do it again without hesitation.
If you are a candidate, listen to Dr. Rudden. Take a week, do your research, and then get it done. A cochlear implant will change your life and the lives of everyone around you.

I realized I had a hearing challenge one night while listening to a book on tape before bed; I rolled onto my right side and could no longer hear the story. At that moment, I knew I was in trouble and needed help. The thought that I couldn't keep working or maintain my relationships if I couldn't hear was quite distressing. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was worried about having something in my ears all the time because I might be a bit tactilely sensitive. Moreover, my father had hearing aids that he hated, which made communication nearly impossible at times.
Initially, I heard great things about Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center from a co-worker who recently got hearing aids through them. Observing his process and positive experience made it seem doable, and I had the very same experience myself. Everyone was kind, professional, and thorough, making me feel like I was in good hands. Since getting hearing aids, I can hear in social situations, track and participate in conversations at dinner parties, hear much better at work, and communicate effortlessly with my loved ones, dramatically improving my quality of life.
To anyone concerned about their hearing, I'd say it's a big step and an adjustment, but definitely reach out to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. They're truly there to help, and you should do this for yourself and your loved ones. What I love most about working with them is the individualized approach tailored to my hearing needs and goals. I even went to an Avalanche game, and despite the noise, I enjoyed the event and carried on conversations with my sisters!

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when the ringing in my ear, which started as an occasional annoyance, became a constant distraction. I began asking people to repeat themselves, initially not realizing it was due to not hearing them. My family and I would joke about it initially, but eventually, it was no longer funny as I constantly had to ask, "What?" or "I didn't hear you; can you repeat that?" I would position myself to hear people from my "good" ear, learning to adapt, though it was frustrating and embarrassing at times. I thought maybe my ear was plugged and would improve, but it didn't. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had preconceived fears about hearing aids because I remembered them being large, bulky, and noticeable. I felt some shame, probably because of my age, but it seems so silly now. When I first visited the Center, everyone was so friendly and caring. Dr. Rudden and Dr. DeMears were truly attentive to their patients, ensuring I was listened to, heard, and everything was thoroughly explained at my pace. Since wearing hearing aids, my life has transformed from not hearing at all on one side to achieving normal hearing function with a cochlear implant, and the ringing is gone 90% of the time. I still have some rehabilitation ahead, and it's true I struggle in some environments, but my hearing is significantly better than before, and I am no longer embarrassed to talk about my hearing loss journey. For anyone concerned about their hearing, I recommend taking the step to walk through the door and hear what the doctors have to say; it's worth it because you are worth it. My favorite thing about working with the Center is the doctors. They genuinely care and respect each other and the staff without rushing you through the process.

In October 2017, I first noticed something was wrong with my hearing when, after a cold, I experienced a profound loss of hearing in my left ear. Concerned that I had blown my nose too hard, I found reassurance from an ENT specialist who explained that sudden hearing loss from a cold is quite common—a surprise even to me, a registered nurse. When I decided to contact Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had no preconceived fears or concerns. I knew I needed help, as I was only 52 years old and worried that prolonged hearing loss could lead to cognitive issues.
My first impressions of Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center were outstanding. Dr. Rudden listened to my concerns with compassion, professionally answered all my questions, and offered me confidence with her reassurance. Since 2018, I've been wearing a Widex hearing aid for my left ear, adjusted 2-3 times due to mild worsening. This aid has been life-changing; without it, my hearing is profoundly affected, but with it, I feel 100% more confident both socially and professionally.
To anyone concerned about their hearing who is considering a visit, I'd say you've got nothing to lose and so much to gain. Yes, cost might be a concern, but assessing the problem and learning your options is crucial. Hearing well is vital for a healthier life, regardless of age or life journey. My favorite thing about Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is their excellent, knowledgeable service—from the front desk to the clinical staff. They truly have two of the best physicians of audiology in the business.

The moment I first realized something was up with my ears was when I experienced a gunshot exposure that caused immediate muffling and tinnitus. I panicked, fearing my life would never be the same. Despite these concerns, I had no preconceived fears before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. I was actually excited to talk to Dr. Rudden, as my previous audiologist had not been helpful. I was worried about wearing hearing aids and didn't think I could get them adjusted to my satisfaction, as it all felt new and foreign to me.
My first impression of the center was incredibly positive—they were so caring and really listened to me. From the front desk to the audiologist, everyone showed so much compassion, which was refreshing. The transition to wearing hearing aids was a huge adjustment, and it took me over a year to reach a point where I didn't think about them constantly. However, now that I've had them for about two years, I hate being without them. With the hearing aids, I no longer hear the tinnitus and can hear better overall.
To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering visiting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I would say, please go see them. They were a lifesaver for me. Just give them a chance, sit down and talk with them. I guarantee you will come back! They don't feel like a typical medical clinic. Instead, they make you feel like family, as if they've known you forever. My favorite thing about working with them is how easy it is to be seen when needed, and how communicative and caring all the staff and Dr. Rudden are.

I first realized I had a significant hearing loss from activities undertaken without hearing protection, such as using firearms, motorcycles, chainsaws, and other equipment. Gradually, I noticed missing words and context in conversations, particularly when I could not see the speaker's face. My wife also noticed that I wasn't hearing her correctly. This occurred gradually, so there was no singular moment when it became evident that I needed hearing aids.
Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I didn't have major concerns or fears. There was some vanity involved, as I was reluctant to be seen as an old man with hearing aids. However, the LH&TC professionals dispelled any technical concerns. They paid close attention to my condition, and the staff was kind and reassuring while testing my hearing and fitting my aids according to my specific needs and hearing loss.
My first impressions of Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center were that the staff was friendly, welcoming, professional, and attentive to my issues. Since wearing hearing aids, the impact on my life has been immense. I am now more comfortable in all situations—work, recreation, and social encounters—because I can hear what people are saying and respond appropriately. I'm no longer asking them to repeat themselves, pretending I've heard them, or giving the impression I'm ignoring them because I didn't hear clearly. I wear my aids every day without fail.
To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center, I say: do it! You will be treated very well, and all your concerns will be addressed in a professional and sympathetic manner. I am grateful for their assistance and help over the past many years. I'm now on my third set of aids as technology has advanced. Set your worries aside and let Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center help you to a better life. My favorite thing about working with them is their compassionate and professional service.
Inspiring Quote: "Set your worries aside and let Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center help you to a better life."

I have had a hearing loss since birth, but it wasn't until several years ago that I realized my hearing aids were not providing much assistance—I was probably hearing only 10 percent. Despite being initially told I didn't qualify for an implant due to having "too much hearing," a hearing advisor later confirmed I was a candidate, prompting me to explore the Cochlear implant. This decision marked a significant improvement in my hearing, although I now recognize it might have been better to have both ears implanted. Before reaching out to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was mostly concerned about the possibility of the implant not working. Fortunately, it did. Initially nervous about my first visit to the clinic, I was relieved to find everyone friendly and eager to help. Every morning, the first thing I do is put on my hearing aids, because I'd rather hear what's going on—simple things like water running or a fan, which I couldn't hear before. If anyone is concerned about their hearing, I would advise them to give it a try, as the person who benefits is the one who needs help. My experience with Dr. Ruden has been excellent; my favorite moment was when my cochlear implant was first activated and worked immediately. It was evident to both Dr. Ruden and me that it helped, as I could hear things I never really heard before.
Inspiring Quote: "I would advise them to give it a try. The only person who will benefit is the person who needs help."

The moment I realized something was up with my hearing was when I felt frustrated because I couldn't understand or hear words clearly. Prior to contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, my primary concerns were finding an effective solution and having easy-to-use hearing aids. My first impressions of the center were entirely positive; they were very thorough, and an excellent referral from a friend reinforced my confidence. Since wearing hearing aids, there's been less stress and minimal frustration in my life. I would absolutely recommend Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus to anyone concerned about their hearing. My favorite aspect of working with them is their welcoming atmosphere—it felt like I already knew them from my first visit, and they always show great concern for me.

In March 2021, I first realized something was wrong with my hearing when I woke up, sneezed three times, and blew out multiple cilia. It took me two years before I could afford hearing aids, and what a joy it was when I finally did. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had no preconceived fears or concerns. My first impressions of them were that they were friendly, professional, and well-trained. Now that I wear hearing aids, the improvement in my hearing is akin to the experience of getting glasses in the 7th grade and realizing trees had leaves. I can hear so much better in most situations, especially when facing the speaker, and I can listen to music with pleasure again. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering visiting the clinic, I would encourage them to have their hearing checked. It's one of the most important things we can do to prevent dementia. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is their responsiveness.
Dava M.

I realized something was up with my ears when I noticed my hearing was diminishing; I kept asking people to repeat themselves. My biggest concerns before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center were the anticipated cost and how the hearing aids would look when worn. I needn't have worried, though, because during my first visit, I was impressed by how professional the team was in evaluating my hearing and finding the proper solution. It made me feel they really cared about me. Wearing hearing aids now has made it much easier to follow conversations, listen to public speakers, and even enjoy television at home. I would encourage anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to not be afraid of the evaluation. You will be treated as an individual and provided with the best products and service. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is definitely the people, from the doctors to the staff!
Fred F.

I realized I might have a hearing challenge when I found myself constantly asking people to repeat what they said. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, my main concern was the cost. However, my initial impression of the center was very positive as they were both friendly and professional. Since wearing hearing aids, my social interactions have improved substantially. To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would suggest, "Go in and have a chat." My favorite aspect of working with the center is their quick, friendly, and informed service.

I first became aware that I might have a hearing challenge when my parents took me to Children's Hospital in Boston, MA for a hearing test at a young age. I was somewhat aware in school as well, noticing I couldn't hear the teacher well unless I sat closer, but I didn't really understand what normal hearing sounded like. Moving to Colorado was an opportunity to find a competent and trustworthy audiologist, and I found exactly that at Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. My first impression was that they were knowledgeable, capable, and straightforward. Since wearing hearing aids, I've realized how essential they are for effective communication; it would be impossible for me to communicate without them. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Longmont Hearing, I would advise being patient with the process, as it involves testing, trials, and adapting to realizing gains. My favorite part about working with the team here is that everyone is helpful, responsive, and caring.
Inspiring Quote: "Be patient with the process because it's a process from testing, trial, adapting to realizing the gains."

I first realized that I had a hearing challenge when my now 41-year-old son was a baby, and I could only hear his cries with one ear. After a failed stapedectomy, I've been wearing hearing aids ever since. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had no preconceived fears or concerns, but I've been very pleased with their kindness and expertise. My first impression was positive; I enjoyed meeting Dr. Rudden and felt very comfortable. Now, I don't want to go anywhere without my hearing aids as they greatly impact my life. To anyone concerned about their hearing, I highly recommend Longmont Hearing, especially to my husband. My favorite thing about working with the center is the ease of getting in to see someone when my hearing aids are not working properly.
Inspiring Quote: "I don't want to go anywhere without them."

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when I, as a teacher, could no longer hear my students clearly. I had struggled with a slight hearing loss of upper pitches my whole life, but it wasn't until it impacted my students and their learning that I knew I had to take action. Like many, I had preconceived fears about what a loss might mean for my life, along with concerns about the cost of hearing aids since many insurance companies don't cover them. However, my first impression of Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center was overwhelmingly positive. The staff made me feel at ease from the moment I walked through the door, with a focus on comfort and simplicity in handling everything, including paperwork.
Having worn hearing aids for nearly 20 years now, I was amazed to discover all the everyday sounds I had been missing. My students and colleagues noticed an immediate improvement, and my family did too. After upgrading my hearing aids, they now connect to my phone, allowing for better call quality and volume control at events. My life has transformed for the better. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, go as soon as you can! The entire staff is incredibly helpful, and Dr. Rudden, who's been on this journey with me, is particularly supportive. Testing is straightforward, and you learn so much about your hearing and the various options.
My favorite part about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is how easy-going and helpful everyone is. I can always count on them to do everything possible to address my questions or concerns.
Inspiring Quote: "Go as soon as you can! The entire staff can help!"

What I appreciate about everyone at Longmont Hearing is their professional knowledge, expertise, genuine helpfulness and friendliness.

If you decide to go to Longmont Hearing when you notice deterioration in your hearing, you will receive excellent professional testing, evaluation and advice from the team.

I am almost totally deaf in both ears now, so hearing is 100% better with the Cochlear Implant and hearing aid, though it can be difficult to hear conversations in a noisy atmosphere. Also, the sound of music is distorted, so I cannot enjoy music as I once did. Overall, I am grateful for the ability to hear much better, and hearing devices are being perfected all the time. Be aware they are expensive, but well worth the expense.

My first impressions of Longmont Hearing were positive. I felt confident that eventually they would help me get the most benefit from my hearing devices. I would recommend Longmont Hearing to any family or friends who are noticing a slow decrease in hearing ability.

Since my original Audiologist was in Boulder, I was happy Longmont Hearing was located in Longmont. I was in the middle of learning how to use the Cochlear, and the team worked with me to understand speech through the Cochlear; it was a difficult time for me. Also, my old left hearing aid couldn't pair up with the Cochlear, so I had to get both a new left hearing aid and a new mobile phone so everything would work together for my benefit. I was frustrated with this process at times, as the older we get, the harder it is to learn new things, especially things requiring electronic and Artificial Intelligence knowledge. If you are near Longmont, having that care close by can really help during a difficult hearing journey.

In 2010, I had a hearing problem in my right ear and saw an Ear, Nose, Throat physician and then his Audiologist for evaluation and got a hearing aid for that ear. Later, I had to get a hearing aid for the left ear.
I began paying attention to my hearing ability, worried that hearing loss would get worse. It did get worse, and in 2024 I had a Cochlear implant done on the right ear. Difficult to adjust, but glad I have it!

A few years ago, my hearing challenge became much more obvious during a long trip through Europe, when it was hard to fully understand and hear during tours. My only concern before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center was the price of hearing aids, since I knew they could be expensive. My first impression was great, with friendly, professional, and thorough staff. Hearing aids have made a big difference in my life and I should have done it years ago. My favorite thing about the clinic is how much they care about your issue. If you are concerned about your hearing, they are awesome and you won't regret it.

The constant static and ringing in both ears made me realize something was wrong, and it was really affecting my life. My biggest fear before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center was the cost of hearing aids, but everyone was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Since getting hearing aids, my tinnitus is a lot better, my spouse doesn’t have to repeat herself as often, and I can listen to podcasts while walking.
Make an appointment today if you are concerned about your hearing.

My hearing loss was first diagnosed by a school nurse in 5th grade, but nothing much was done at the time. I got my first hearing aids at 20, during college, when I realized I was missing a lot in lectures and naturally lipreading; taking notes meant missing what professors said next. When I got hearing aids, it changed everything. I could keep up with classmates and understand lectures much better. Hearing aids have kept me "in the world" throughout my adult life and as my hearing loss worsened. Without them, I'd be "living in a cave" metaphorically. I know I am "difficult" to be around without hearing aids, constantly asking people to repeat things and missing out on conversations, so they truly help me stay connected.
D'Anne Rudden at Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center has been supportive, kind, and funny. She knows her stuff and has helped me find resources when I couldn't afford hearing aids. Her professional skills, combined with her compassionate attitude, make her my favorite audiologist in Colorado. To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would say to get over the stigma and just do it. Denying hearing loss and delaying adaptation isn't your best choice. Admit that you have a hearing loss and resolve to be good at it. Also, it takes about 16 weeks for your brain to fully adjust to new hearing aids. Wear them daily, even at home, to adapt fully.
Rebecca H
Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center seemed to know what they were doing and were very professional. Hearing aids have helped me a lot, greatly improving my understanding of all speech, including TV and telephone. If you are concerned about your hearing and considering visiting, it is a good choice.
Larry R
I can't recall the exact moment I realized there was an issue with my ears, as my hearing loss evolved and I can't be certain. My first impressions of Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center were excellent. I would rate them a "17" if I could. The staff reached new heights in great medical care. I would tell anyone concerned about their hearing that you should have visited four months ago.
Arthur L
About four years ago, I noticed in groups of people I was not hearing as well. I had no concerns about contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center because I took both my parents there while they were alive. My first impression was fantastic, as everyone was very caring and professional with both my parents and me. With hearing aids, I do not miss out on much during conversations where a lot of people are communicating at the same time. My favorite thing about working with them is the knowledge of all the people at the clinic. If you are concerned about your hearing, you will be extremely glad you did.
Edward R
Not being able to tell what direction a noise came from made me realize something was wrong with my hearing. It's so much easier to talk with my friends now that I have hearing aids. The clinic has nice people and is very professional. If you're concerned about your hearing, do it!
Romelle H
Medical appointments where everyone was wearing a mask were when I first realized I had a hearing challenge. I had no real fears before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, since my daughter is deaf in one ear. My first impression was that everyone was very friendly and professional. Since getting hearing aids, I can hear everything, even the TV and mobile phone conversations, and I no longer have to say "What" a hundred times a day. The staff were always friendly and helpful, taking the time to answer and explain every concern, no matter how minor. Wearing a hearing aid is about YOU, and I didn't realize before how my hearing issue affected my family and those around me.
Janice S
It has been a while, but I noticed I was missing a lot of conversations in group settings. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was concerned about hearing aids being visible, but my first impression of the clinic was that they were kind. Now that I wear hearing aids, I am able to hear more conversations, though not all, and I have to accept that my hearing may not get better unless there is a revolutionary new hearing aid. My favorite part about working with the clinic is getting concerns taken care of in a timely manner. If you are concerned about your hearing, give it a try. You can usually try a hearing aid for a few weeks.
Rita R
A bad cell phone connection made me realize something was wrong with my hearing, because the sound was much clearer when I moved the phone to the other ear. I didn't really have any fears before coming to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I just hoped to improve my hearing. My first impression was that everyone was kind and caring. With one hearing aid (since my other ear has no function), it has made it easier to hear people's voices. I still miss some parts of conversations, but it's definitely an improvement.
D'Anne and Jill are so personable and eager to get you hearing better again. If you are concerned about your hearing, go get it checked out. You'll be in good hands.
Sally M
Around 3rd or 4th grade, my teacher probably told my parents about my hearing loss, though they already suspected something. I was fitted with a box hearing aid, amazed at how much more I could hear, even the sound of my clothes moving. I didn’t have any particular fears before reaching out to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. I wanted answers about the Cochlear Implant, and they helped me with that. My first impression was that the staff were very friendly and professional.
The Cochlear Implant has made a huge difference in my life, and I still use a hearing aid in my other ear for balance. They always try to help you hear better. If you are concerned about your hearing and considering a visit, go for it. You will receive excellent service.
Maxine B
My hearing challenge showed up when I was having trouble hearing normal conversation, listening to the television, and just could not hear well in general. I did not have any fears before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I just wanted to understand what was happening. At first, I was a bit apprehensive since I did not know what to expect, but the staff was very open and understanding. Now I can certainly hear much better than I was. My favorite thing about working with them is the staff, from the receptionist on. Everyone is very friendly, positive, and easy to work with. If you are concerned about your hearing, I would go for it.

I’ve had significant hearing loss since childhood. For many years, I relied on a Bi-CROS system because only my right ear had usable hearing; I had no hearing in my left ear.
I began working with the team at Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center to explore new options for my hearing. After a thorough evaluation and consultation process, I received a cochlear implant.
The team will continue with my follow-up care as I adjust to the implant. I recently returned for my one-month post-activation follow-up, and things are going wonderfully so far.
I’m already hearing birds again and can hear well in small groups, which has been a big change for me.
Sharon
I was scared it wouldn’t get better, and my only fear was that they would confirm the ringing was permanent.
But when I came in, the people were very nice. They made me feel comfortable and were very helpful in explaining what I was experiencing.
Originally, I thought hearing aids would make me look and feel “old.” But I soon realized they helped me so much that I didn’t care. My advice? Make the appointment! The information and feedback you receive from them is invaluable, and it could really change your life. Their staff is wonderful—so helpful and kind.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge back in elementary school. Although it wasn't too severe, it was obviously significant enough to need attention. I waited way too long in my life to get it corrected but finally decided to visit Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center based on previous recommendations. They are fantastic people to deal with, and I'm so glad I got hearing aids now. Before contacting them, I had no preconceived fears or concerns. My first impression of the center was very positive—they are easy to work with and offer great customer service. Wearing hearing aids has made a world of difference in my life, and I only wish I hadn't waited so long to get them. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering visiting, I'd definitely advise them to do it sooner rather than later and choose Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center; they are the best I've seen. My favorite thing about working with them is that they are great people and flexible.

I first realized something was up with my ears in 2013 after my mother passed away. I attended a health expo thinking I had a wax buildup and was advised to consider getting a hearing test. After moving to Loveland, I wanted to find a nearby clinic and chose Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center to avoid driving to Thornton for appointments. My first impression of Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center was very positive; I was most impressed by the friendliness of everyone and admired the newspaper and magazine articles on Dr. Rudden's wall recounting her travels to assist those with hearing issues in third-world countries. Since then, my hearing aids have been life-saving; I would definitely struggle to hear without them. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would recommend they get a hearing test at Longmont Hearing, as it is a perfect place to go. The test is quick and crucial to one's health, especially if you are past 60 years old. My favorite thing about working with them is the exceptional customer service—from the receptionist to Dr. Rudden, everyone genuinely cares about their patients.
Inspiring Quote: "These are a life saver as far as I'm concerned."

I first suspected I was losing hearing in one ear and felt a bit scared to actually find out, especially since my biggest concern was not knowing why or the severity of it. Prior to contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I never thought I'd need my hearing checked or tested, which worried me given that I didn't know anyone with similar issues. At my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect from a new doctor's office, but everyone was so nice, and Dr. Rudden's professionalism assured me I had chosen the right place. Since getting hearing aids, there's been a significant difference; they help me tremendously. As someone who works full-time and struggled to understand conversations daily, my hearing aids have allowed me to hear more clearly without feeling like I'm constantly straining to listen. If you are concerned about your hearing, I highly recommend Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus; they helped me navigate my fears and uncertainties, answered all my questions, and provided me with my first hearing aids. My favorite thing about them is the quality care, akin to a small-town doctor's office, where everyone takes time to genuinely listen to and address my issues.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when my children grew tired of having to talk louder and I found myself unable to make out some words on the television unless the volume was turned up. Despite this realization, I didn't have any concerns before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, as they came highly recommended to me, though I can't recall by whom. Upon my first visit, D Anne was very helpful and courteous, leaving a positive impression. Wearing hearing aids has profoundly impacted my life, allowing me to hear better and alleviating the ringing in my ears. To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would wholeheartedly say, "Go for it, you will be happy that you did!" My favorite part about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is the receptionist, who is always helpful and polite whenever I come in for replacements.

I began to notice something was up with my ears when I couldn't hear my family talk. Although I was already a hearing aid wearer, I remember being afraid the first time I went for a hearing test. When I visited Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center for the first time, I really liked the front desk person; she made me feel welcome. Of course, Dr. Rudden stood out as very kind and compassionate. I can't navigate without my hearing aids, they have greatly impacted my life. If anyone is concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I'd say, "Go check them out, they know what they are doing and you will be pleased with the great service." My favorite thing about working with the center is that everyone is so friendly and genuinely wants to help.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge while volunteering at the hospital and struggled to understand what people were saying. Before that, I just assumed my husband was mumbling. Having grown up with a mother who wore hearing aids, I had no fear of them, but concerns about the cost lingered before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. My first impression of the center was that everyone was professional and caring. Since getting hearing aids, I've been able to understand most people speaking and enjoy watching TV at a lower volume. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would advise trying it out and taking a few days to adjust to the new sounds. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is being able to get an appointment when I need one.

I first noticed my hearing challenges when I was a young adult, and since then, my primary concern before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center was the cost. Initially, I tried hearing aids from two different places, including Costco and another independent provider, but wasn't satisfied until I found Dr. Rudden. Her expertise and the overall experience at the office made me happy with my decision. Although I am retired and have profound hearing loss, hearing aids have helped me manage well. While I anticipate that I might need cochlear implants eventually, I'm currently holding off in hopes that technological advancements will improve them. For anyone who is concerned about their hearing, Dr. Rudden is likely one of the best experts to consult, possibly even in the entire United States. The convenience of living close to her office is something I'm very grateful for. My favorite thing about working with the team is how super friendly everyone is, and there's never any pressure.

I first realized something was up with my hearing while watching "Wheel of Fortune" and noticing that I misheard some of the letters they asked for. Having worked in Long-term Care and Home Health, often collaborating with an audiologist, I had no preconceived fears or concerns before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. I knew the value of hearing aids but understood they wouldn't replicate perfect hearing. My first impression of the clinic was that the staff was very thorough and carefully listened to my input. Since wearing hearing aids, I hear more clearly and have regained sounds I miss without them. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say that initially, the sounds may seem overwhelming, but with use, you will adjust and hear better. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is that they take the time to explain why hearing aids are needed, ensure I understand how to use and care for them, and answer any questions I have without making me feel rushed.

I first realized that I might have a hearing challenge when I was out with friends in a group; I struggled to hear everyone. Additionally, while watching TV, I often couldn't hear the audio effectively and started wearing headphones plugged into our amplifier. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I felt embarrassed about the idea of wearing hearing aids. However, after getting them, I noticed more and more people wearing them, which eased my embarrassment. My first impression of the center was memorable; driving a car when it started raining, I heard a tick-tick sound and initially couldn't figure out what it was until I realized it was the rain hitting the windows. Simple sounds like brushing my teeth and hearing water in the sink suddenly became clear. Wearing hearing aids has made my life much more enjoyable, especially when going for walks with my dog, as I can now hear the birds chirping. For anyone concerned about their hearing, I would say, don't be worried. Your life will change positively after getting your hearing aids, and you'll usually go home with test hearing aids to try out. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is their great staff and doctors.

My realization that I had a hearing challenge was gradual. It all started with a few months of "what did you says?" until a friend questioned my hearing. It was the moment I noticed I was missing the high strings during orchestra concerts that really made me worry. My biggest fear was losing the ability to hear music, something that had been an integral part of my life since high school. However, my first visit to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center was an eye-opener; I was impressed by the personalized care I received. The staff's sole focus seemed to be my well-being, and I admired D'Anne Rudden's dedication to helping people with poor hearing in third-world countries. Since getting hearing aids, my life has improved, and humorously, I've forgotten how to say, "What did you say?" To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I'd say, "Get on your MARK, get SET, GO!!!!!" My favorite aspect of working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is the staff's sincere effort to improve my hearing; they are truly good people who care.

I first realized something was up with my ears when they seemed to always be ringing. After some tests, it was determined that I had tinnitus. Initially, I had preconceived fears about contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center because I thought hearing aids were for old people, and I didn't want to look older by wearing them. During my first meeting with the clinic, I was nervous and didn't know what to expect, but D'Anne was very nice and respectful. She showed me my options and the benefits, which was very comforting. Since wearing hearing aids, they've helped me on a daily basis to manage my tinnitus, and I got over the worry of looking older as the benefits are much greater. I would tell anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit that they will be in great hands. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is that the people are so nice and truly understood my concerns.

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge after my husband passed away when I noticed that I relied on him to hear the doorbell or phone ringing. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had no preconceived fears or concerns. My first impressions of the clinic were that they were very thorough. Since wearing hearing aids, I've found that my ability to communicate has improved in controlled environments, although a noisy background remains a challenge. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering visiting the clinic, I would share my good experience and highly recommend them. My favorite aspect of working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is their patience in explaining everything I needed to know about wearing hearing aids.

In 2000, I first encountered a hearing challenge when a medication for bronchitis led to a whooshing sound that lingered for three weeks, during which my hearing declined to 20%. Feeling alone and isolated, I sought ear specialists and attempted various medications to no avail. Even after getting hearing aids, I didn't receive the necessary adjustment help. Joining a hearing loss group provided some support, but I still fell into a depression. Therapy eventually aided with that depression, and I learned to live with my hearing loss. It's essential to recognize that life isn't over; adjustments are crucial, but not impossible. Hearing aids are vital tools that foster communication and diminish isolation.
I had no preconceived fears before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, and they were crucial in making my hearing loss manageable. My first impressions of Longmont Hearing were that they were concerned, helpful, patient, understanding, and supportive, especially after another provider turned me away. It was a blessing in disguise, as it led me to them. Now, wearing hearing aids has transformed my life, ensuring every day is a good day.
To anyone concerned about their hearing, I recommend visiting Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus—they are like family. My favorite thing about working with them is that they always answer my questions and provide the best care possible.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge due to tinnitus that I've been experiencing for quite a few years, alongside hearing loss in more recent years. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, my biggest concern was finding the right doctor to treat both these conditions. My first impression of the center was that they provided quality treatment. Although I currently own a quality pair of hearing aids, I often wear earplugs while riding my motorcycle, so the hearing aids don't get used much. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I'd say, "No time like the present." I recall a situation in 1973 with a man whose job was in jeopardy due to hearing loss. We all contributed to buy him hearing aids, which not only saved his job but significantly improved his life. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is Dr. Rudden's exceptional care and treatment.

I first noticed a slight hearing loss around three years ago. When I decided to reach out for help, I didn't have any preconceived fears or concerns about contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. My first impression of the clinic was very positive; they were attentive, thorough, and professional. Since getting hearing aids, I've only experienced positive impacts, improving my hearing significantly without any drawbacks. For anyone concerned about their hearing, I would say you're really going to enjoy the experience. The best part about working with them is their professionalism and attentiveness.

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when I noticed I couldn't hear people speaking very well in a crowd. Without any preconceived fears or concerns, I contacted Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, where they were great at figuring out exactly what I needed to enhance my hearing. My first impression of the clinic was that the team was very caring, passionate, and professional. Since wearing hearing aids, I've enjoyed the clarity and ability to hear people speaking. If you're concerned about your hearing, I highly recommend talking to Dr. Sudden and getting a hearing test performed. My favorite aspect of working with the clinic is their professional and caring staff, who are easy to work with.

I gradually realized I had a hearing challenge as I found myself frequently saying, “what?” and relying on others to repeat themselves. This repetition led people to grow impatient, which made me self-conscious and increased my sense of isolation and loneliness. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was primarily concerned about the expense of hearing aids. However, my first impressions of the clinic were overwhelmingly positive—everyone was so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. What stood out the most is that no matter how long between visits, Dr. Rudden never forgets me. Now that I wear hearing aids, I can hear without missing out on conversations. I no longer need to blast the TV volume, and I feel like I am part of things again. If you are concerned about your hearing, I urge you to make a visit. You'll find yourself less lonely and isolated, and with the availability of new over-the-counter hearing aids, the technology and service are much more affordable. My favorite thing about working with the clinic is that they know me, they helped me hear, and it is so easy to get the care I need.

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when my hearing loss seemed to come on suddenly. I found myself unable to understand simple words people were saying and had to learn to read lips to keep up with conversations. Initially, I had some tests done which showed nothing unusual, so I got hearing aids. Unfortunately, they only amplified everything, making it difficult to hear anything distinct. Frustrated, I set them aside. Missing the sound of my husband's voice compelled me to finally call Dr. Rudden at Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center. My first impression of the center was one of relief—finally, someone who knows what they're doing and isn't just selling hearing aids. Wearing the right hearing aids has made a tremendous change in my life. The emotional impact was overwhelming when I started to hear sounds like birds chirping and running water, things often taken for granted by those who hear well. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I would wholeheartedly say, "Do it! What do you have to lose?" My favorite thing about working with them is Dr. Rudden and her wonderful staff.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when I struggled to follow conversations in restaurants and bars. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was concerned that hearing aids would make me look even older. However, my first impression of the center was that everyone was nice and competent. Wearing hearing aids has transformed my life—I can now hear all the birds and the crunch of gravel when I hike. To anyone worried about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, "Go. The things you can hear make it all worth it." My favorite aspect of working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is that every person there is genuinely nice and competent.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when I struggled with not being able to relate to people, losing relationships, and being ignored, along with failing hearing tests. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I didn't have any preconceived fears or concerns because this form of hearing aid doesn't merely amplify sound; it maps your hearing with several tests so you hear exactly what you need. My initial impression was uncertainty about whether they could deliver what they promised, as most technology tends not to. Since using the hearing aids, I've easily passed my DOT required hearing test and can understand what people are saying without having to stare at them quizically or incorrectly guess their words. For anyone concerned about their hearing, I'd say I wasted money on other hearing aids before this but now see the effectiveness due to the power these hearing aids provide — a crucial factor given my severe hearing loss. My favorite thing about working with them is that they're genuinely excited about helping people.

The moment I realized something might be up with my ears was with the arrival of my new grandchild; I was concerned I wouldn't hear him when he needed me. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I had no preconceived fears or concerns because I immediately felt I was in expert hands. Dr. Rudden always clearly explained every step of the process. My first impression was that Dr. Rudden came to the rescue when we needed immediate help with my husband's aids, as his provider couldn't get us in for a visit. Now that I wear hearing aids, I find that although it's not a perfect science, I'm keeping up with conversations much better and no longer want to miss a thing. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, "Go for it." Every minute lost living with diminished hearing is training your brain to adjust to not hearing, so get ahead of the problem and stay engaged. My favorite thing about working with Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center is the support I feel from the front desk staff, right from the moment the phone is answered.

The moment it hit me I might have a hearing challenge was when I struggled to understand what some people were saying, and my spouse grew annoyed with having to repeat themselves. Before contacting Longmont Hearing and Tinnitus Center, I was concerned that I might be losing my hearing — a reality I wasn't prepared to face. My first impression of the center was shaped by a friend's high praise for Dr. Rudden, and I was pleased to find that all her accolades were true. Wearing hearing aids has significantly impacted my life by helping me hear and comprehend speech better, improving my work, home, and recreational activities. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would simply say, "Go for it!"
